Recreational and Degenerate Gamblers Alike:
Each Friday you can come here to take a look at my Top 5 Picks against the spread. There are maybe 3-5 picks each week that present value on the board. These picks will give you the best shot to come out a winner. Please feel free to comment below or reach out to me on twitter about the week’s action. Lastly, if you absolutely need more action than 5 games because you are a degenerate like the rest of us – you will find many games below the value picks in which I could make a lean towards.
Last Week: We went 1/5 last week on a horrible slate where undergrounds got demolished. If you got the Boston College/Clemson line late in the day then you came out a winner there as well. Even though the Aggies threw 3 pick 6’s, they made the game competitive until the 4th quarter, only trailing 28-20 to Alabama. This is why we will go right back with them again this week.
This Week: I hate the slate this week. If I am forced to pick 5 games, 2 of them are going to be before Saturday even begins. I do have A LOT of leans so far this week, so keep scrolling to check them out.
LUCK = TIMING + PREPARATION. GOOD LUCK!
VALUE PICKS:
#5: Cal (+3) @ UCLA Thursday 9pm
UCLA is banged up on defense and Cal fought hard against Utah last week. I think Goff has a huge game his Senior year to get some revenge on the Bruins. Over the last few years UCLA has beaten Cal at home by a combined 44 points. That trend ends tonight.
#4: Memphis @ Tulsa (+10.5) Friday 8pm
Memphis is coming off a huge win vs Ole Miss last weekend. I expect them to have a let down game in this one. Now they may not lose outright but Tulsa will be motivated to score points at home against a now ranked Memphis squad whose defense is very lackluster.
#3: Western Kentucky (+15.5) @ LSU 7pm
LSU has an upcoming bye before it faces Alabama. I expect them to look past Western Kentucky and play more of a Syracuse on the road type game they had a few weeks back. QB Brandon Doughty of WKU is no slouch either – he has the second best QBR in college football. WKU puts up a fight while LSU sits Fournette in the 4th.
#2: Texas A&M (+6) @ Ole Miss 7pm
Two fast paced offenses square off in a killer match-up. Ole Miss does not have a run game that matches that of Alabama, which destroyed A&M by keeping it on the ground. The Aggies also threw 3 pick sixes that game. Ole Miss is on the downward trend. Only thing I HATE ABOUT this pick is that the public is all over A&M but the line has moved in the opposite direction. Either way, this game should be close and I think 6/7 is a great number to get it at.
#1: Utah @ USC (-3.5) 7:30pm
How are the Trojans favored over the number 3 team in the country? Yep, your guess is as good as mine, that’s why I am going with the Trojans. The public is all over Utah as well and the line still got pushed to an extra half to 3.5……CRAY!
BEST OVER/UNDERS of the WEEK:
Northwestern @ Nebraska UNDER 51.5 12pm
Boston College @ Louisville OVER 37 12:30pm
This game should blow but I can see the over hitting by a TD. L-ville wins 24-17
LEAN OF THE WEEK:
Texas Tech @ Oklahoma (-14.5) 3:30pm
Baker Mayfield is a Texas Tech transfer. I love what he did last week vs Kansas State – expect him to LIGHT UP his old team in a blow-out of epic proportions. Okie wins by 27.
I love a lot of chalky public crushing this week:
Army @ Rice (-10) 12pm
Kansas State @ Texas (-4) 12pm
Tulsa @ Navy (-23.5) 1pm
Keenan Reynolds needs 4 TD’s to break the NCAA record for rushing touchdowns. He will get 6 this game.
Miami-Ohio @ Western Michigan (-25.5) 2pm
Western Michigan is under rated this year playing a tough non-conference schedule. Miami-O BLOWS.
Fresno State @ Air Force (-17.5) 2pm
Air Force runs the ball and is money at home. Fresno has let up 20 rushing TD’s this year.
Middle Tennessee @ LA Tech (-7) 3:30pm
LA Tech is a pretty good team, especially if Dixon their #1 running back plays. If he does, slay this game. If he does not, still play it but not as hard.
Florida State @ Georgia Tech (+6) 7pm
I hate this game but shouldn’t the spread be much higher? FSU stops the run like no other and G-Tech just runs the ball. Confused.
