Recreational and Degenerate Gamblers Alike:
Each Friday you can come here to take a look at my Top 5 Picks against the spread. There are maybe 3-5 picks each week that present value on the board. These picks will give you the best shot to come out a winner. Please feel free to comment below or reach out to me on twitter about the week’s action. Lastly, if you absolutely need more action than 5 games because you are a degenerate like the rest of us – you will find games below the value picks in which I could make a lean towards.
Last Week: We went 1/5 again last week with the Pick of the Week being the only winner. Western Kentucky played a good game against LSU and stopped covering late in the 4th quarter. The same is said for Tulsa who almost kept up the scoring vs Memphis. Too bad Memphis knows it plays a lot of shit teams and needs style points to even be considered for the college playoff. A nice rule that we should still follow is fading the public, which was prevalent in the reverse line movement vs Ole Miss last week. Terrible taking the Aggies, I said I shoulda known better but I did anyways. Lastly, Thursday/Friday games BLOW. Never again, EVER.
This Week: We will try and find some value in the dogs as usual, even though the last two weeks the dogs have been getting smoked. I like a few double digit favorites this week but not sure I can constitute them as value. Just can’t find much otherwise. So favorite chalk it is!
LUCK = TIMING + PREPARATION. GOOD LUCK!
#5: Georgia (+3) @ Florida 3:30pm
After an awful performance last week Georgia should rebound and keep this thing within 3. This series seems to have always favored the dog. Take the points in a close game.
#4: Michigan (-13) @ Minnesota 7pm
I expect Harbaugh to keep his kids focused after that gut wrenching loss to MSU last week. I also love the fact that Minnesota could not score against Northwestern defense and Michigan not only shut out Northwestern, they scored 38 against them. In fact, they shut out 3 teams prior to the Michigan State battle. They will do much the same here. Minnesota loses 27-3.
#3: Okie State @ Texas Tech (+3) 3:30 pm
Texas Tech defense blows but I love a back and forth battle where the home team comes out the victor. PLUS I still think Okie is a fraudulent undefeated team.
#2: Miami @ Duke (-10) 7pm
Don’t look for Miami to play inspired football after the firing of Al Golden. Duke is in a prime spot to take advantage of a terrible Miami team.
#1: South Carolina @ Texas A&M (-16) 12pm
The Gamecocks got their only SEC win last week against Vandy. Expect a drudging by an Aggies team itching to put up points.
Lean of the week:
Notre Dame (-10) @ Temple Owls
Temple has been a Cinderella story up to this point but their offense is still suspect. Expect a tight game with good D throughout but I like a 4th quarter cover by at least 2 scores.
